and Beverly (Branch) was great,”
Locke said. “They’re right here.
My family and friends live here.”
Locke loved the fact that the
money Careity raises in each
County stays in that County,
helping people in their battle
“I felt like Careity was where
I was supposed to be,” Locke
said. “After all, Dr. Gunter is a
surgeon for Careity.”
Locke began volunteering full time with Careity in March
of 2018 and couldn’t be happier.
“I didn’t need help from Careity, Thank God,” Locke said.
“But through my doctor, I believe I was led to Careity. I love
the work they do and I love the work I do for Careity. I don’t
know how Lyn and Beverly do all that they do. …What they
do with the money they have and the volunteers they have, I,
well, I just don’t know how they do it. They put out so much
work. It’s unreal and it’s unbelievable how much they care and
how much they do. I feel honored to help. I still get emotional
when I talk about it. Sometimes it’s like it was a long time
ago and sometimes it seems like it happened yesterday. I just
want to help them in any and all ways possible.” n
